Celebrating Mothers

Sunday, May 8
My first Mother's Day was definitely one to remember.  I was fortunate enough to celebrate it with my daughter and my mothers.  Scott and I enjoyed the morning with a family walk to the store. Later, Mom, Dawn, and Will came over for a late morning brunch. Scotty started us out with mimosas, while he played chef in the kitchen.  He and Will whipped up a wonderful traditional breakfast of cheesy eggs, homemade hashbrowns and bacon.  It was absolutely delightful.  Thanks for making it such a special day, Scotty.

Girls Trip Out West

Eugene April 30 - May 5

Rozlyn has naturally had a lot of firsts in her life thus far and so to add one more she flew across country at one month old to visit her Auntie Sarah, Uncle Greg and Cousin Norah.  She is a phenomenal traveler.  Minimal crying and lots of sleeping. She made it really easy on mom!

Rozlyn and I arrived in Eugene, OR Saturday to be greeted by the Meyers and the Daby cousins! Jon and Wilson drove down from Portland for a day visit.   Rozlyn immediately captured the attention of Wilson and Norah.

Our first day we ventured out into the Willamette Valley countryside to Sweet Cheeks winery for a girls picnic. We spent the afternoon playing with the girls, sipping wine, and soaking in the warm rays! The weather coopreated our whole visit.
Norah was having so much fun meeting everyone around us and playing on the lawn.

Perched on a hill overlooking the vineyards, Sweet Cheeks offers an amazing view for a picnic.

Sarah got some good auntie time

The next few days were very relaxing.  We had a couple of lovely dinner parties on the patio with close friends, watched our fair amount of chic flicks, and played around in Sarah and Greg's new garden.  Sarah and I even got to slip away and have sister time thanks to Greg volunteering to watch the two girls!

Our last day we drove out to Fall Creek for a picnic.  Greg biked out to meet us.  After lunch, we scratched the planned hike and spent the sunny afternoon playing by the rio. Norah was having the time of her life playing in the water and watching Bishop fetch logs out of the rio!

It was a fabulous visit and so good to spend time with the Meyers and to let the two cousins have the first of many playtimes ahead!  A special thank you to the Meyers for hosting us girls! We love you!
