Sneak Peak

Yesterday Scott and I started our morning the best way expecting parents could...watching our baby.  We had our first ultrasound where we could see little baby mac moving around, turning his head, raising his arms and bending his legs.  It was beyond amazing and he is so incredibly adorable already!  (I am saying "he" to avoid saying "it", since we are waiting to find out what we are having until it is born.)

The nurse was really friendly and informative; we spent about 45 minutes watching our baby on the big screen as the nurse took measurements and pointed out all the little parts of our baby.  We saw the heart beating and all four chambers, the brain, kidneys, stomach, arms, legs, hands, feet, and face all at different angles.  Everything is right as it should be!  We actually found that we are not as far along as we had first been told. The measurements show that we are in week 18 instead of week 20, which gives us a new due date of March 27th.

We have had quite the exciting week: I had my last day at LSS, we got a glimpse of our baby and we are taking off for our European vacation this afternoon.  (Well, be sure to share the highlights!)
You can see the heart in this profile.

You can kind of see the right foot.  It is in the middle of the screen.

Hello, Goodbye

After three years at LSS Data Systems, I turned in my resignation and said all my goodbyes on Tuesday.  LSS was a great place to start my career in electronic medical record software and I was able to build a lot of great friendships there, but I was ready to advance my career.

Now I am getting ready to move onto the next chapter in my career with Allina Hospitals and Clinics as a Technical Training Specialist, where I will be training in hospital nurses on how to use the software in their daily work. November 15 is the kick off date when I'll start orientation.

The location is a little further from home, but in a very neat, historical building in South Minneapolis.  The Allina headquarters is actually located in the old Sears Tower, that is now the Midtown Exchange building.  The first floor is the Global Market which international cuisines and ingredients, which I can't wait to explore.  Scott and I are very excited for this move forward in my career!

Bun in the Oven

As most know by now, Scott and I are expecting an exciting delivery this March!  We are thrilled to become parents and start growing our family.  The baby is starting to really grow already.  We are 19 weeks along now and have another doc visit next week.  So far we know that the baby has a strong heartbeat and is growing right on schedule.
