Trick or Treat

Our little bug!!! Literally, Rozlyn was our little lady bug for her first Halloween.  She had a little Halloween party at daycare with the other little kiddos and made her very first craft to bring home. Her mommy and daddy are so proud.
She greeted our trick-or-treaters that came by that evening and was a hit.  Something that I am realizing with having a baby is that little kids love babies!

Autumn Adventures

The unseasonalbly warm and sunny October was full of fun Fall festivities including hockey, orchards, and baseball.
Rozlyn's loving her first WILD game at the Xcel.

This summer Scott had a work golf tournament and got lucky in the raffle drawing.  He won a suite at a WILD game! His luck brought many of our friends and family together to share a fabulous night cheering on the WILD.

Scott, Rozlyn, mom and I visited the Pumpkin Patch at Minnetonka Orchards one bright and blustery Sunday.
It's so thrilling for me to be able to do the things I loved as a kid now with my little family!

 Pumpkin Baby

Rozlyn was not so sure about these pumpkins or the feeling of grass

Rozlyn loved drumming on the pumpkins and hearing the hollow sounds

Scotty and Rozzy set off to conquer the corn maze. The corn maze was a first for eveyone!

Lost in the corn maze... perfect time to snap a family photo

Giggling with Gammy

Rozlyn was mezmorized with Trace Atkins singing the National Anthem. His singing actually stopped her in mid-crawl.

Happy Half Birthday Rozzy!

Rozlyn turned 6 months and it opened a whole new chapter of her life. She reveals more of her character everyday and is learning new things so quickly! She is very talkative and babbles all the time. One of her favorite sounds to make is " hi dadadada". Makes her daddy a proud papa! She's learned to say mamama, but that's more at night when she's tired and crying. We're gonna keep working on that one.

It seemed like Rozlyn just turned a corner when she reached six months. She is playing more independently and plays with her toys, shakes her rattles, opens her books, and then everything ends up in her mouth, of course. Her rocking forwards and back on all fours, turned into a full on crawl at 6 1/2 months. Then next week she was pulling herself up onto her knees. She's just developing so fast! She likes sitting at the bottom of the stairs and drumming on the first step.
Micah is getting a run for his money now. Being the cuddly little girl that Rozlyn is, when she sees Micah, she'll crawl over to him and give him some snuggles, which looks more like tackle and headlock. We are still learning how to be "gentle". Luckily, Micah is a very patient kitty and takes all of her lovin' in stride.

At her six month appointment Rozlyn weighed 18lbs 1 oz and was 27 inches long, right in the 75th percentile range.

Enjoying an unseasonably warm October day on Gammy's deck

With a little motivation, Rozlyn crawls for the first time on Oct. 8

Nothin' better than a bare bottomed baby

All that crawling tuckered this little one out and no better place for a nap than in Gammy's arms.
Rozlyn LOVES Micah! I think he likes her attention.  They are going to make great buds!

Rozlyn at 5 months!

Rozlyn is getting more and more interactive both physically and socially.  She is rolling over both ways now with ease, though she prefers to spend most of her time laying on her belly, propped up on her elbows, looking around (like the Cobra yoga pose).  Rozlyn is more curious and observant of her surroundings too.  Her toys provide entertainment, though it may be short-lived until she just wants to put the toy in her mouth.  She is grabbing onto anything and everything in her reach.  She is especially intrigued by watching us eat and drink.  If you're not careful, she will grab your cup right out of your hands and help herself.  Thus, she got her first sippy cup to indulge in.

Rozlyn is a rambling girl.  She babbles on and on and on with her coos and ahs to anyone who will listen. A few weeks ago she started making consonants sounds too.... gagaga....dadadada.  We got really excited and started teaching her "Hi daddy", which sounds like "ay dadadadada". Her little voice is so sweet and heart warming!

This month she really started getting good nights' sleep!  It's amazing how a whole night of uninterrupted sleep changed from the expected to something that is treasured once a baby enters your life.
